| The Artist I was born in Denmark, with a Danish father and a Brazilian mother. When I was five, my mother brought my little brother and me to Brazil, where I lived for 21 years. At 25 I sought out my father and rediscovered my Danish roots. I moved back to Danmark in 1999, where I am now living with my cat! In Brazil I travelled a lot through different kinds of land and met many different kinds of people. The faith in something bigger than you, the hope for better days and the love for each other, made the strenght of our small family, a strenght that helped us survive. To unite two very different universes of culture like Denmark and Brazil is maybe an impossible mission - and maybe it's silly to try.But in my experience, the best thing to do is to use the dynamics and the powers of the contrast. So, that's how I let 'the pieces' - the treasured gifts - that I have had from both cultures come together in my art quilts. |
 To fit pieces together into a full picture is a talent that I have developed first and foremost because og the story of my life! |
